I don't know why people ignore it--maybe it feels too German, whereas Metropolis has much less of an ethnic identity. Actually, I'd argue that Die N. is a better introduction to Lang's silents than Met. is, but non-fans aren't likely to seek it out without being told.Chris Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02511805377064572471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5228314939015275941.post-39856343096761241532009-05-12T15:32:00.000-04:002009-05-12T15:32:00.000-04:00fantastic review! His Mabuse films and esp. M are incredible. Will have to give Spiders a try! Thanks!stanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16564475238552070851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5228314939015275941.post-5343961162982466272009-05-12T15:30:00.000-04:002009-05-12T15:30:00.000-04:00fascinating read. I have seen the Image boxed set ...fascinating read. I have seen the Image boxed set of Fritz Lang's other silents and was impressed. Especially that long one, Die Neib. (I don't know German). All classics by a highly talented director. His Mabuse movies (one silent and the other famous non-silent the Last Testament of Mabuse) are fantastic too. Thanks for writing your thoughts.stanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16564475238552070851noreply@blogger.com
